Explanation
In Uzbekistan, Karakalpaks, Tajiks, Russians, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Turkmens, Tatars, Koreans and others live in harmony alongside Uzbeks. People may have different beliefs, but all are children of one land. A tolerant person respects everyone and looks down on no one. Our neighbours: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan.
Worked examples
A new pupil, Viktoriya, joined the class. Hilola invited her to play at break and taught her the Uzbek word do‘st (friend). Viktoriya taught her the same word in Russian.
Class activity
“Sun of friendship”: a sun is drawn on the board; children name qualities that earn respect (kind, truthful, polite...) and the teacher writes them on the rays.
