Новые слова
sound · tovushletter · harfto count · sanamoqequal · teng
Объяснение

We hear and say a sound; we see and write a letter. In many words the number of sounds and letters is equal: olma (apple) — 4 sounds, 4 letters. In some words it is not: sh is one sound but is written with two letters. In shahar (city) there are 5 sounds and 6 letters.

Примеры
maktab (school) — 6 letters, 6 sounds (equal). choy (tea) — 4 letters, 3 sounds: ch, o, y.
Toshkent — 8 letters, 7 sounds: t, o, sh, k, e, n, t.
Работа в классе

“Sound counter”: the teacher says a city name (Buxoro, Xiva, Qarshi). Children clap once per sound, then count the letters and compare the two numbers.
