Explanation

A neighbour is جَار (a man) or جَارَة (a woman). To say where you live, use سَاكِن (a man says it) or سَاكْنَة (a woman says it): أَنَا سَاكِن فِي عِمَارَة جَدِيدَة, «I live in a new building». A flat is شَقَّة. To ask a neighbour, say إِنْتَ سَاكِن هِنَا؟ to a man and إِنْتِي سَاكْنَة هِنَا؟ to a woman. Greet a new neighbour with أَهْلًا وَسَهْلًا and اِتْشَرَّفْنَا.
