Explanation

To invite a friend, ask هَل تُرِيد أَنْ تَلْعَب مَعِي؟, “Do you want to play with me?” To say “let's…”, use هَيَّا and the present verb for “we”: هَيَّا نَلْعَب. Ask for an opinion with مَا رَأْيُك فِي…؟ and a noun. To a woman say مَا رَأْيُكِ؟ Answer with فِكْرَة جَيِّدَة, طَبْعًا or رُبَّمَا. To refuse politely, say مَعَ الْأَسَف لَا أَسْتَطِيع and the reason.

Class activity

Write a talk of six lines in which you invite a friend to a sport or a walk. Your friend asks when and where, gives an opinion with فِكْرَة جَيِّدَة or طَبْعًا, and you agree on the time. Then write a second talk in which your friend refuses politely.
