Explanation
An online article lets one person or a small group tell their findings to many readers. An article needs a headline that is interesting and true. Think about your audience: friends, family, teachers or classmates. Each audience needs different words. Keep readers interested with a question at the start, short sentences, and a picture or a graph. Write a short summary of your findings and put the most important point first. An email goes to a few named people and an article can be read by many. Children do not post articles alone; a teacher or a family member decides where it is shared and checks it first.

Worked examples
Habiba writes about the class garden. Her headline: “Can a garden grow in sand?” A question makes readers curious.
Youssef’s article is for younger children, so he uses short sentences and a big picture. For teachers, he would add numbers and a graph.
Farida’s summary has the key point first: “Rice was the favourite dish, with 9 of 19 votes.” The details follow. Because 9 is less than half of 19, fewer than half of the children chose rice.
Class activity
My pretend article. On a big sheet of paper, plan an article about something you found out (for example, your class survey). Write a headline, who the readers are, one way you will keep them interested, a two-sentence summary, and where the picture or graph goes. Do not share it online; show it to your teacher or family.
