Roll a ball across the floor with a small push and a big push. Tell a grown-up which went further.
The big push goes further and faster.

Push a toy car gently along the floor towards a cushion. What happens when it reaches the cushion? Tell a grown-up what stopped it.
The car slows down and stops. The cushion pushes back on it with a force.

Watch people on a playground or in a park. Find one person speeding up and one person slowing down. What did each do?
Speeding up: pedalling, running or pushing harder. Slowing down: braking, dragging a foot, pushing less.
