Darkness
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Draw a person walking at night. Show two things that help other people to see them.
For example: a reflective vest or strip, a torch, pale clothes, a head lamp.
2
Find one pale and one dark thing at home. Put them in a dim place and see which you notice first. Tell a grown-up what you found.
The pale thing is easier to see. A shiny thing is easy to see too.
3
Ask a grown-up where the torch is kept at home. Why is it a good idea to know?
A torch gives light in the dark, for example in a power cut. Children should know where it is and ask an adult to use it.
4
Look at a bike or a coat. Can you find a place where it shines when a torch is held up to it?
Reflectors or reflective strips shine when light falls on them. Do this indoors with an adult.
