Find three things at home that are smooth and three that are rough. Tell a grown-up how you know.
For example: smooth: plate, mirror, spoon; rough: sandpaper, a doormat, tree bark.

Draw a hard object and a soft object. Write one property under each.
For example: a stone (hard) and a pillow (soft).

Look for something waterproof in your home. How could you check it is waterproof?
For example: a plastic bag or a raincoat; drip a little water on it and see if it goes through.

Find something transparent and something opaque. Look through them and draw what you see.
For example: transparent: a glass or a clear bag; opaque: a book or a door.
