Habitats
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Look out of a window or go into a garden with an adult. Find one habitat and name two living things that live there.
For example: a tree with birds and ants; a flower bed with bees and worms.
2
Draw a pond and draw three animals that could live there.
For example: a duck, a frog and a fish (or a dragonfly or a snail).
3
Tell a grown-up two ways a desert is different from a forest.
For example: the desert is hot and dry; the forest is cool, has more water, and more plants and animals.
4
Find a pot plant at home. What does it need to stay alive? Where does it get each thing?
Light, water, air and soil: light from a window, water from the person who waters it, soil in the pot, air all around it.
