I can be independent
Textbook pp. 70–75
GoalDo your own tasks independently and feel responsible.
New words
independent · mustaqilresponsibility · mas’uliyatdaily routine · kun tartibihygiene · gigiyena
Explanation
An independent child doesn’t trouble others with jobs they can do: folds clothes, packs their own bag, brushes teeth twice a day. Answering for what you do is responsibility. Telling your family where you are going is also a sign of responsibility.
Worked examples
In the evening Madina packed her bag and laid out her PE kit herself. In the morning she didn’t have to search for anything and got to school on time.
Class activity
“I can do it myself”: the teacher names a task (buttoning, tying shoes, packing a bag...); children shout “Me!” and raise a hand if they can do it alone.
Practice

2
If you go to a friend’s house, do you tell grandma?
Yes, otherwise she will worry
3

It spoils sleep and we wake up tired
