Ha/yo‘q savolda «was/were» gap boshiga chiqadi: «Were you at home last night?» «Was he in the garage?» Qisqa javoblar: «Yes, I was.» / «No, I wasn’t.» «Yes, we were.» / «No, we weren’t.» «Yes, she was.» / «No, she wasn’t.» (wasn’t = was not, weren’t = were not). Qo‘shimcha ma’lumot: «No, I wasn’t. I was at my aunt’s house.» Bu savollarda «do» ishlatilmaydi: was/were o‘zi gap boshiga chiqadi.
