Roads connect peoples, cities and people’s dreams. The textbook has the poem “Orzu yo‘li” (The road of dreams) by Ravshan Isoqov, which glorifies the Angren–Pop railway. We do not retell the poem; we read our own text. The Angren–Pop railway was put into operation in 2016, and through a long tunnel under the mountains it connects the Fergana Valley with the rest of the country. The old Silk Road connected countries for centuries.

“The road under the mountain”. In the past to reach the Fergana Valley one had to cross a high mountain pass. In winter snow blocked the road at the pass. Now a long tunnel has been dug under the mountain and trains run all year round. The workers and engineers who built this road worked for many years. When I grow up I dream of being an engineer and building new roads.
