Объяснение

Every vowel makes a syllable. Sometimes a syllable is just one vowel: o-ta (father), o-na (mother), a-ka (older brother). Vowels can be stretched, so they are easy to hear in songs. The names of musical notes also end in vowels: do, re, mi, fa.

Примеры
a-nor (pomegranate), o-ta (father), i-lon (snake), u-zum (grapes) — the first syllable is a single vowel.
ol-ma (apple), ki-tob (book) — here the syllables have a vowel and a consonant.
Работа в классе

“Stretch the song”: children hum a familiar song and find which vowels are stretched. Then they clap once for each vowel to count the syllables in a word.
