First letters and short vowels
The answers are for checking your own work.

Copy the letters ا ب ت ث ن ي slowly from right to left, three times each. Check that the dots are in the right place.
Check each line: ب one dot below, ت two dots above, ث three dots above, ن one dot above, ي two dots below, ا no dots.

Write the names of the three short vowels and the sound each one gives.
Fatha gives a, kasra gives i, damma gives u.

Read aloud: بَ تِ ثُ نَ يِ
ba, ti, thu, na, yi.

Read aloud: بِنْت، بَيْت، اِبْن، بَنَات
bint, bayt, ibn, banāt.

Find two letters you know on a sign, a package or a screen. Write them and say their names.
Any letters from ا ب ت ث ن ي are fine; check the dots with a parent or friend.
