Zoology. The animal body and classification
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Write 5 animals you see near your home and put each into herbivore, predator or parasite (watch from a distance, without going close).
For example: sheep – herbivore; cat – predator; flea – parasite. Answers depend on the pupil’s observations.
2
Give three examples of animals’ benefit and two of harm.
Benefit: bees pollinate, birds eat pests, cattle give meat and milk. Harm: malaria mosquitoes spread disease, parasites cause illness.
3
Explain tissue, organ and organ system with one example.
Muscle tissue → stomach (organ) → digestive system (mouth, gullet, stomach, intestine).
4
Why can animals not photosynthesise?
They have no chloroplasts with green pigment, so they feed on ready-made organic matter.
5
Memorise the order species, genus, family, order, class, phylum and invent a short memory aid for it.
Free answer; what matters is the correct order: species → genus → family → order → class → phylum.
