Stages of hearing a civil case in court
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Make a 5-line script for the “court hearing” game (invented names and a simple rent dispute).
The plaintiff says the tenant did not pay; the defendant gives a reason; a witness says what was seen; documents are examined; the judge announces the judgment.
2
Explain the difference between plaintiff and defendant in 2–3 sentences.
The plaintiff is the party who goes to court saying a right was violated; the defendant is the party against whom the claim is made. Both have equal rights.
3
Why is it important for parties to have a last word in court?
Each party can state its view, so the court hears both and reaches a fair decision.
4
Write the two stages of complaining against a court decision and their purpose.
Appeal — a complaint to a higher court about a lower court’s decision; cassation — review of a decision in force for lawfulness; both must be filed within the time limits set in the code.
5
Ask an adult and find out the type of court where civil cases are heard in your area and write it (a general name is enough).
For example: an inter-district (district, city) court for civil cases.
