Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Make a table comparing sale, exchange, gift and charitable donation by 3 criteria.
Criteria: consideration, what is transferred, purpose. Sale — for money; exchange — for property; gift — no consideration; charity — no consideration, public benefit.
2
For an online purchase, identify the offer and acceptance and say at what point the contract is concluded before the goods arrive.
Offer — the shop page; acceptance — the buyer’s order/payment; the contract is concluded when the shop receives the acceptance, and delivery is performance.
3
Why is a contractual penalty used in a contract? Give a simplified example.
It estimates loss from delay in advance; for example if a repairer misses the deadline, an agreed sum per day is paid.
4
List the sections (8) of a model contract in order and give the purpose of each in one sentence.
Parties; subject; rights and duties; price; performance; liability; dispute resolution; term and details.
5
Why is it important to read a contract fully before signing? Give general advice (no specific case).
Your signature shows consent; check terms, deadlines, penalties and cancellation rules; ask about anything unclear and, if needed, get a lawyer’s advice.
