Explanation
Keyboard instruments are played by pressing keys. “Royal” is a French word meaning “royal, kingly”; in Uzbek it is the big, flat grand piano. The pianino (upright piano) is smaller, stands upright and is made for small rooms. Their keys are white and black.
Worked examples
Keys on the left give low sounds; keys on the right give high sounds.
Class activity
“Paper keyboard”: children move their fingers over white and black keys drawn on paper. When the teacher says “low!” they play on the left; “high!” — on the right.
