GoalListen to and gently sing “Onajon” (Dear Mum); solve a crossword of music words.
New words
mother · onachorus · naqarotcomposer · bastakorinstrumentalist · sozanda
Explanation
“Onajon” is a song about love and thanks for our mother. We sing it softly, gently and sincerely. We also review words we have learned: the part of a song that repeats is the naqarot (chorus), a person who writes music is a bastakor (composer), one who writes poems is a shoir (poet), and one who plays an instrument is a sozanda (instrumentalist).
Worked examples
The musical symbol of the country is the madhiya (anthem).
Class activity
“Who is it?”: the teacher gives a clue (for example, “this person makes up tunes”); children call out the answer together and clap once per syllable: bas-ta-kor — 3 claps.
