Explanation

Notes are signs used to write music on paper. There are seven notes: do, re, mi, fa, sol, lya (la), si. Notes are written on 5 parallel lines called the staff (nota yo‘li). The treble (sol) clef is written at the start of each line.

Worked examples
Do sits on an extra line below, mi on the first line, sol on the second line, si on the third line.
Class activity

“Note staircase”: seven children stand in a row holding cards do, re, mi, fa, sol, lya, si. Each sings their note one step higher than the last. Then the cards are mixed and the class puts them back in order.
