Explanation
The words of “Maktabim” are by I. Muslim and the music by F. Nazarov. The song is about loving your school. When we sing we keep the back straight, shoulders relaxed and both feet on the floor. Rhythm is the pattern of long and short sounds: “ta” is one long step, “ti-ti” is two quick steps.

Class activity
“Rhythm echo”: the teacher claps “ta ta ti-ti ta”, the class claps it back. Then one child invents a rhythm and the class echoes it. Finally the song is sung standing straight.
