Explanation

An opinion tells what you think. In a paragraph about your favourite game, you can say what the game is, how you play it, how often you play and why you like it. Use I think, I like and I love, and give your reason with because: I like it because it is exciting. Use because for the reason and so for the result: It is exciting, so we play it every Friday. A board game has a board, counters, a die, rules and players. A board game can be a game you make up yourself. If you play video games, ask a grown-up about the time to play. Use our notes to plan your paragraph.

Worked examples

My favourite game is a board game that my cousin and I made. It is called Treasure Trail. You roll a die and move your counter along the path. I like it because it is exciting, and nobody knows who will win. I also think it is a good game for the whole family, because everybody can play. We play it every Friday, and we laugh a lot. I love it because we make up new rules together.
