Explanation

Look at three words. Two start with the same sound. One starts with a different sound. That one is the odd one out. Bus and bell start with b. Cup starts with c, so cup is the odd one out.

Class activity

Odd one out game. A grown-up says three words, for example ‘cat, cow, door’. You clap when you hear the odd one. Then you say three words for the grown-up.
