Explanation

India has a national flag. It has three bands of colour. Saffron is at the top. White is in the middle. Green is at the bottom. A blue wheel is in the white band. We see the flag on Republic Day and Independence Day.

Children at school colour the flag before Republic Day. They stand together and sing.
Say: The top is saffron. The middle is white. The bottom is green.
Class activity

Flag colouring. Fold a paper into three equal parts. Colour the top saffron, the middle white (leave it) and the bottom green. Draw a blue wheel in the middle. Hang it on the wall.
