Explanation
We told stories in order with first, then and last. We said up, down, in and out. We said where things are: on, under, in and next to. We said a and an. We clapped the parts of words. Now listen to a new little story.
First: Imran takes his kite to the field.→Then: the kite goes up in the sky.→Last: the kite comes down.
Worked examples
First Imran takes his kite to the field. Then the kite goes up in the sky. Last the kite comes down and Imran smiles.
Look at the picture. The kite is in the tree.
Say: an orange, a kite, an owl. Clap the parts: or-ange (two claps).
Class activity
Story circle. Tell a story with four parts. Use toys or drawings. Say: First ... . Then ... . Next ... . Last ... . Use words like up, down, in and under. Clap the parts of two long words.
