Explanation
Read a story about Raj and his pup. Listen first. Then read it with your finger under each word. Many words in this story end with the same sound: pup, rug, bug.
Raj has a pup.
The pup can run and run.
The pup sits on a rug in the sun.
A bug is on the rug.
The pup looks at the bug.
The bug hops. The pup hops.
‘Ha, ha!’ says Raj. ‘Hop, pup, hop!’
The bug hops away. The pup naps in the sun.
Worked examples
Read it again. Point to each word. How many times can you find the word ‘pup’?
Look at the picture. This is a pup.
Be the pup. Hop, hop, hop! Then be Raj and say: Hop, pup, hop!
