Explanation

Our last week joins the whole term. Let us first recall Theme 3. Ethics: designers of AI should be inclusive, unbiased, beneficial, transparent, protective and accountable, and users must not plagiarise, spread misinformation or impersonate people. E-commerce: shop wisely with a search engine, a comparison website and careful reading of reviews, and remember that children do not buy online. Communication: a video meeting is real-time communication; a grown-up creates it, the link is shared only with invited people, and you mute your microphone when you are not speaking. Code: HTML builds static pages, and a language such as JavaScript builds dynamic ones. Problems: try the first fixes and ask a grown-up. Pictures: edits such as blending can show an idea, but an honest editor says what was changed. Use this table as a quick map of the theme, and make your own questions from it.

DescriptionWord

Two-way match. Mina matches each description to its word: ‘reaching everyone as it happens’ goes with real-time communication; ‘a page that changes as the user acts’ goes with dynamic content; ‘buying goods online’ goes with e-commerce.
MistakeFix
microphone always onmute when not speaking
link shared in publicshare only with invited people
password told to a friendnever share it
Spot the problem. A pupil keeps the microphone on during a meeting, shares the link in public and tells a classmate a secret password. The three mistakes are: no muting, a public link and sharing a password. Each has a simple fix.
An exhibition plan for the term. Six panels about the ICT tools of this term: AI ethics, shopping research, meetings, code and fixes, pictures, and my essential sentence. Each panel has a drawing, a label and a caption.
Class activity

Recap quiz in pairs. Write eight question cards about Theme 3, one each on AI ethics, shopping research, stocks and bonds, an educational service provider, video meetings, static and dynamic pages, a digital problem, and an honest edited picture. Swap cards with another pair and answer in full sentences. Then plan the exhibition for the term on paper with six panels, each with a drawing, a label and a caption.

Practice
1
Name three rules for people who build AI.
2
What is the difference between a stock and a bond?
3
What is the difference between static and dynamic content?
4
How can you be honest about an edited picture?
