Explanation

For a holiday to be merry you need three things: original decorations, games to spend time well, and tasty treats. To work on a project we first make a plan: the name of the holiday, who takes part, who does what, and what materials are needed. It is good to work as a team: one person makes decorations, one a game, one a treat. When it is ready we look at the result and discuss what went well.

Worked examples
In the plan: Holiday — Navro‘z. Decoration — a paper-flower garland. Game — task cups. Treat — biscuit balls.
Class activity

You need: coloured paper, scissors, glue or tape, string, ruler. A) Garland: 1) Cut 15×2 cm strips. 2) Glue the first strip into a ring. 3) Thread the second strip through the first ring and glue it into a ring, and carry on. B) Snowflake: 1) Make a square from paper (fold a corner of the sheet to the opposite edge and cut off the extra rectangle). 2) Fold the square into a triangle and then once more. 3) Cut small triangles and half-circles from the edges; do not cut the folded centre right through. 4) Open it carefully: a symmetrical pattern appears. Safety: use scissors seated; ask an adult to hang decorations high up; do not use electric lights or candles unless an adult is in charge.
