GoalUse big, small, tall and short with colours.
New words
big · largesmall · littletall · high from bottom to topshort · not tallcolour · red, blue, yellow …
Explanation
We use big and small for the size of things: a big balloon, a small balloon. We use tall and short for things that go up, like trees, buildings and people: a tall man, a short boy. When we use a size and a colour, we say the size first: a big red balloon, not a red big balloon.
| Opposites | Example |
|---|---|
| big – small | a big red balloon, a small red balloon |
| tall – short | a tall tree, a short tree |
| size, then colour | a small blue kite |
