Worked examples

One day an old woman made a little man from sweet dough. She put him in the oven. Soon the oven door opened and the little man jumped out! He ran down the road.

Listen to part 1.

Stop! said the old woman. But he called back, Run, run, you can’t catch me! I’m the Gingerbread Man! A cow wanted to eat him. A horse wanted to eat him. But he ran faster and faster.

Listen to part 2.

At last he came to a river. A fox said, Jump on my back. I will take you across. The Gingerbread Man jumped on. The water was deep, so the fox said, Jump on my nose. Snap! That was the end of the Gingerbread Man. The story says: Be careful with a friend who is too clever.

Listen to part 3.
Now you. Tell the story to a grown-up with the four pictures.
