Steps, machines and inventions
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Look at a T-shirt at home. Tell a grown-up the four steps from the cotton plant to the shirt.
Grow, pick, spin and weave, cut and sew. Accept the words first, next, then, last.
2
Find clothes you have outgrown. Who could wear them now?
A younger cousin, a friend or a charity. The idea is to reuse instead of throwing away.
3
Draw a machine that helps your family. Write what it helps you do.
For example a washing machine, a fridge or a fan. Any correct answer is fine.
4
Draw your own invention and tell your family the problem it fixes.
Look for: a clear problem, a simple idea and a drawing.
