Plan the files for a two-page project
This week we plan a small project of two web pages for an invented school science club called Robots Club (example). The pages are “About the club” and “Club events”. We never use a real address, phone number, e-mail or photo of anybody: everything is made up. A project starts with a plan on paper. Make one folder for the project, and in it three files. The first page is a file that ends in .html. The second page is another .html file. The third file ends in .css and holds the looks for both pages, as you learned last week. File names are short, in small letters and without spaces. The plan on paper comes first; if your teacher allows it, you can try it later on a school computer.
| File name | File type | Job |
|---|---|---|
| about.html | HTML page | page one: about the club |
| events.html | HTML page | page two: club events |
| style.css | CSS file | the looks of both pages |
| Better | Not so good |
|---|---|
| events.html | club events page.html |
| style.css | My Style File.css |
Draw the project folder with its three files on paper. Next to each file, write what it is for in one short sentence. Write a name for a third page you might add later, using the rules for file names.
