My role model poster and a check-up
A role model poster has a name, three facts, three strengths, and one sentence about how the person inspires you. Put them in a table so that they are easy to read. In the Roundtable, sit in a circle and each person shares one word from Unit 3, then tells who their role model is and why. Tell what you learned from them that matters most. Do not rank role models: nobody is the best. Check-up: you can read a biography, use the past simple with was, were and didn’t, build words with suffixes and prefixes, and write a biography with commas. Read our short biography below and answer the questions.
| Poster part | My role model |
|---|---|
| Name | Dr Samah Adly |
| Three facts | children’s doctor in Tanta; became a doctor in 1998; teaches healthy habits |
| Three strengths | kind, hard-working, patient |
| How she inspires me | She inspires me to work hard and to help other people. |
Dr Samah Adly is a children’s doctor in Tanta. As a girl she wanted to help people, so she studied hard and became a doctor in 1998. In her clinic she gave treatment to patients, and the children liked her because she always smiled. She also taught families healthy habits, such as washing hands and drinking water. Her patients admire her dedication.
Make the poster. On a large paper draw a table with the four parts. Fill them in about your role model. Add a title and show it to your family. Do not draw a portrait if you do not want to.
