Explanation

A social media post is short and friendly. Start with a catchy sentence, often a question: Have you ever wanted to see a rainforest? Use short sentences, one idea each, and use comparatives and superlatives to describe a place: more exciting than, the best. Say a fact and a view: Brazil is a country in South America (fact). I think its music is wonderful (opinion). End with a question or an invitation. Be kind: never write unkind words about people or places, and never give a private name or address. Do not use emoji characters: write the word, for example smile. Before you post, check the spelling and the verbs, and read it aloud. A post of this lesson has 60 to 80 words (up to 100 if you can).

Worked examples

Dream trip! Have you ever wanted to see a rainforest? I want to visit Brazil, a country in South America. People there speak Portuguese, and they love music and football. I think a rainforest is more exciting than any park I have seen, because it is full of birds and plants. I have never travelled outside Africa, so this trip would be my biggest adventure. Where do you want to go? Tell me! Kind words only, please.

Read a model post. A grown-up reads it aloud.
Find: the catchy start (Have you ever wanted to see a rainforest?), a comparative (more exciting than), a superlative (my biggest adventure), a present perfect (I have never travelled).
Check-up. Which is correct? (a) Alexandria is bigger than Tanta. (b) Alexandria is biggest than Tanta. The answer is (a).
Now you. Choose a country or an Egyptian city you want to visit. Say your catchy first sentence.
