Graphs of uniform motion. Non-uniform motion
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
A body covers 12 m in 3 s (uniform). Velocity (m/s)?

2
A cyclist rides 100 m in 20 s and then 200 m in 40 s. Average velocity (m/s)?
5
3
In your notebook draw the distance graph for s = 2t (m) with points at t = 0, 1, 2, 3 s.
Points: (0; 0), (1; 2), (2; 4), (3; 6) — a straight line through the origin.

Why is the average velocity of a car that covers half the way at 30 km/h and half at 60 km/h not 45 km/h?
More time is spent on the slow half, so the average is below 45 (it is 40 km/h).

Walk to a shop with an adult: measure the whole distance and time and find your average velocity.
Answers differ (for example 1.2 m/s).
