Helping at home
Discover Term 1: Axis 1, Chapter 2
GoalSay how I can help at home safely and put my day in order.
New words
help · do something kind for someonetidy · put things in the right placeorder · what comes first, next and last
Explanation
Everyone in a family can help. I can water the plants. I can put my toys away. I can set the table. I can carry light bags. Helping makes home a nice place. I must never touch the cooker, a knife or medicines. Those jobs are for grown-ups. My day has an order too. First I wake up, then I eat breakfast, then I go to school, and at night I sleep.
Worked examples
Youssef waters the plants every morning. Plants need water to grow.
Jana puts her toys in a box. Now the room is tidy.
Mina’s day: first he wakes up, then he eats breakfast, then he goes to school, and last he sleeps.
Class activity
Helper chart. With a grown-up, choose three safe jobs, such as watering a plant, putting toys away and setting the table. Draw a box next to each job. Tick the box each time you do it. Never use a knife, the cooker or medicines.
