Объяснение
О предметах, которые находятся близко, мы говорим this (единственное число) и these (множественное число): this desk, these desks. О предметах, которые находятся далеко, мы говорим that (единственное число) и those (множественное число): that chair, those chairs. Примеры: «Touch this book.» «Look at those flowers.» Просьба: «Can you pass me those markers, please?» — «These?» — «Yes, please.» Ответ: «Here you are.» — «Thanks!» Запомни: is употребляется с this/that, а are — с these/those: «These are my pens.»
Примеры
This pencil is mine. That pencil on the far desk is Lola’s. These apples are sweet. Those apples on the tree are green.
— Can you give me that red folder, please? — This one on my desk? — No, that one on the shelf. — Here you are. — Thanks a lot.
