The textbook has the poem “Keep books clean” by Obid Rasul. A textbook will serve other children after us, so we keep it clean. Don’t read lying down or hold the book too close to your eyes. Let the light fall from the left. Don’t fold pages or draw in books.

“The torn page”. Jasur stuffed his textbook into his bag in a hurry. At home he saw that a page was torn. Jasur was upset, because next year another child will read this book. With his mum he glued the page and put a cover on the book. Now Jasur takes good care of his book.
Rule: use a bookmark — don’t fold the page.

Children make their own paper bookmark and decorate it. Then a “Right — wrong” game: the teacher shows pictures (reading lying down, a book with a cover) and children judge them.
