User interface (UI)
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Explain in your own words the difference between UX and UI with the restaurant picture.
UI is the look, like decoration; UX is how the whole visit works, like food and waiting time.
2
Write three design choices for an invented app (colour, font, layout) with a reason for each.
For example dark blue on light grey for high contrast; a simple font for reading; three tidy sections so the eye knows where to look.
3
Sort these comments into UX or UI: “colours clash”, “too many taps”, “buttons too small”.
Colours clash: UI. Too many taps: UX. Buttons too small: UI (and it affects use).
4
Why should contrast and readability matter to designers?
So that everyone, including people with weak sight, can read the page easily.
