Green technology for a cleaner world
Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Explain in two sentences why a green bag is not green technology by itself.
Green technology means tools that protect nature and save resources. Colour does not do that.
2
Write the four fields of green technology and one example for each.
Renewable energy: solar panel. Saving energy: green building. Waste: recycling. Water: drip irrigation (other examples are fine).
3
Draw the flow of a sensor tap with three boxes and arrows.
hand→sensor→water
hand under the tap → sensor notices → water flows.
4
In a made-up test a normal tap uses 30 litres and a sensor tap uses 9 litres. How many litres does the sensor tap save?
30 − 9 = 21 litres.
5
Write your own “If … then …” sentence for a sensor in your classroom.
Answers differ. For example: if nobody is in the room, then the lamp switches off.
