Explanation

Many verbs end in -ed in the past. visit becomes visited. look becomes looked. play becomes played. work becomes worked. love becomes loved. Yesterday I visited my aunt. We played in the garden. I loved the day. We can ask: Did you play football? We answer: Yes, I did. or No, I didn’t. In a question with did, the verb stays the same.
