Answers are for parents and teachers.
1
Write the “main problem” and “achievement” for Asia, Africa and Latin America in a table.
Asia – population and inequality; achievement – economic growth (China, India). Africa – poverty and conflicts; achievement – the African Union, growth. Latin America – inequality and debt; achievement – democratic elections.
2
Write five states with a Muslim-majority population and their forms of government.
For example: Türkiye – a secular republic; Saudi Arabia – a monarchy; Iran – an Islamic republic; Indonesia – a presidential republic; Uzbekistan – a secular republic with freedom of conscience guaranteed.
3
Why must a religion not be confused with violent extremist groups? Write 4–5 sentences.
Groups may justify their violence with religious words, but religions and most of their followers reject this; responsibility for a crime lies with the persons and groups who commit it; the law treats it as a crime.
4
Give one country as an example of each of three Latin American development models (revolutionary, neoconservative or neoliberal, reformist).
Revolutionary – Cuba; neoconservative (neoliberal) – Chile or Argentina (1990s); reformist – Brazil (social programmes of the 2000s).
