New words
confidence · belief in your own abilitycuriosity · a wish to know or learndecision · a choice that you make after thinkingparticiple · the verb form used after have or beenform · the way a word or verb is written in a sentencefrustration · the feeling of being annoyed when you cannot do something
Explanation

Review the three structures from Units 1 to 3. The present perfect passive is have / has been + past participle: The windows have been cleaned (we care about the result now). The third conditional is If + past perfect, would have + past participle: If I had asked, I would have known (an unreal past). The future passive is will be + past participle: The results will be sent (the doer is not important). The most common mistakes are the wrong participle (send – sent, not send), a missing been or be, and would after if. For word forms, look at the word before and after the gap: after a, the, his or her you need a noun (his determination); before a noun you can use an adjective (a curious girl); after is or felt you may need an adjective (she felt frustrated). Compare your answers with the table.

Word forms. Read the table aloud and make a sentence for two of the pairs.
Choose: The photos ___ by the club last week. (were taken / have been taken). Last week is a finished time, so we use the past simple passive were taken. The present perfect passive is not used with a finished time.
Spot the mistake: If she would have called, I would have answered. After if we use the past perfect: If she had called, I would have answered.
Now you. Write one sentence for each of the three structures, about a school event.
Class activity

Mistake hunters. Write six sentences about school, three correct and three with one mistake each (a wrong participle, a missing been, would after if). Swap with a partner. Your partner finds the mistakes and corrects them, and says which structure each sentence uses.
