Explanation
A clock tells us the time. The short hand shows the hour. When the long hand points up to 12, we say o’clock. Ask: What time is it? Answer: It’s four o’clock.

Class activity
Clock game. Make a clock from a paper plate with two paper hands. A grown-up says a time, for example “It’s three o’clock”, and you move the hands. Then you set a time and the grown-up says it.
